Book reading by �鶹ԭ��F authors Sept. 24

Anamaq Margaret Rudolf, left, and Leasi Vanessa Lee Raymond will give a reading of their chapters of the book “Indigenous Critical Reflections on Traditional Ecological Knowledge.”

Two �鶹ԭ��F authors of the book published in March this year will give a reading of their chapters at Solstice Books in Fairbanks.

The book, “,” explores Indigenous value systems through science, poetry and stories. The book’s authors, reviewers and editors are all Indigenous, a first for the publisher.

Leasi Vanessa Lee Raymond, deputy director for strategic initiatives at the Alaska Center for Energy and Power, will read her chapter, “Talofae, Your Ancestors Are Gossiping about Your Data Management Plan,” which provides a framework for creating an Indigenous-informed and culturally appropriate data management plan.

, a postdoctoral researcher at the International Arctic Research Center, will give a reading of her chapter, “Co-Production of Knowledge in Arctic Research: A Paradigm Shift or Another Cycle of Oppression?,” in which she critiques discourse on the topic from an Indigenous standpoint.

A discussion will follow their book reading. Copies of the book will be available for sale at the event.
