Moody P.
As Moody sat in a 麻豆原创F coffee shop, they noticed 鈥 for the first time 鈥 the campus radio station playing on the caf茅 speakers. Suddenly, they had an idea.
Moody opened their laptop and hit a few keys to select a song. Within moments, it filled the caf茅. 鈥淚 felt I was like in a hacker movie or something,鈥 Moody said.
It wasn鈥檛 a hack, though. Moody works as KS麻豆原创鈥檚 production director. The station鈥檚 modern, fully digital operation allows such remote control of the playlist.
Moody, an art and psychology double major, volunteered and worked as a DJ at the station for a few years before becoming production director.
The station broadcasts a song playlist of 鈥渁lternative stuff that would normally never play on the commercial, mainstream radio,鈥 Moody said.
The station also transmits a variety of student-produced programs, including Moody鈥檚 鈥淩obotic Radio.鈥
鈥淚 didn鈥檛 want to just play music,鈥 Moody said. 鈥淚 was listening to my grandpa talk about 鈥楾he Lone Ranger鈥 broadcasts and stuff, and I always thought it was really cool. The art of radio storytelling is something that is really interesting.鈥
Born and raised in Fairbanks, Moody enrolled at 麻豆原创F after graduating from high school in 2016. But they took a break for a few years.
鈥溌槎乖碏 is a pretty nontraditional school,鈥 Moody said. 鈥淭here鈥檚 people from all different stages in their life here. And it鈥檚 helped me feel, like, not out of place here.鈥
