Retired professor Cole to reflect on 麻豆原创F career

Retired history professor Terrence Cole will reflect on his three decades at the University of Alaska Fairbanks during a public lecture at 7 p.m. on May 23 at Schaible Auditorium.

Cole, a respected Alaska historian and longtime director of the 麻豆原创F Office of Public History, retired from 麻豆原创F this spring. At 麻豆原创F鈥檚 commencement ceremony this month he received emeritus status, a title given to those who have served the university with distinction for at least 10 years.

During his career, Cole was honored with the Emil Usibelli Distinguished Teaching Award, was twice named the Alaska Historian of the Year and was named Fairbanks Citizen of the Year in 2011 with his twin brother, Dermot. His books include 鈥淭he Cornerstone on College Hill,鈥 a history of 麻豆原创F, and 鈥淔ighting for the 49th Star: C.W. Snedden and the Crusade for Alaska Statehood.鈥
