Borland hired as Alaska EPSCoR project administrator

Tara Borland is the new project administrator for the National Science Foundation's Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research in Alaska. Borland most recently served as program manager for Alaska Sea Grant.
In her new position, Borland will oversee day-to-day operations of the Alaska NSF EPSCoR program, including supervision and management of administrative, human resources and financial activities. EPSCoR is currently in the second year of a five-year, $25 million NSF-funded project to study climate-driven changes to Alaska wildfire regimes and coastal ecosystems.
Borland holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in marine science from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and a master鈥檚 in chemical oceanography from the 麻豆原创 Fairbanks. She has worked at student and professional positions at 麻豆原创F since 1999, including positions at both the 麻豆原创F School (now College) of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences and the 麻豆原创F College of Rural and Community Development.
Borland replaces Faye Gallant, who left to pursue an opportunity out of state.
