Students groups win grants from Alumni Association

The 麻豆原创F Alumni Association has awarded more than $4,000 to 麻豆原创F student organizations
to help them adjust to a quickly changing landscape during the COVID-19 pandemic.
These funds will support projects and improve campus opportunities for current students.
Two of the awards will support printing and other costs for campus literary publications.
The most recent issue of 麻豆原创F鈥檚 undergraduate literary journal, Ice Box, featured artwork
and creative writing from 29 undergraduate students. Permafrost Magazine has been
created by graduate students in the M.F.A. creative writing program for more than
40 years, publishing writers and artists from all over the world.
The 麻豆原创F Jewelry Makers will use the 麻豆原创FAA benefactor fund award to purchase supplies
for carving wax models. There are about 20 jewelry students this semester who will
use these pens, and they will be available each semester in the future. The group
was unable to raise funds in the spring jewelry sale after campus access was restricted
due to COVID-19.
The Psi Chi Psychology Club will use alumni association funding to support this semester鈥檚
鈥淪elf-Care in Uncertain Times鈥 project, including a series of online events featuring
guest speakers, social get-togethers, and peer-based support. The club's recent fundraising
opportunities were canceled due to restrictions stemming from COVID-19.
The 麻豆原创F Alumni Association has committed to supporting students each year with its
small-grant program. The 麻豆原创FAA Benefactor Fund was established in 1998 to encourage
alumni to participate in an annual giving program that directly supports the university.
In July 2010, 麻豆原创F alumni donated $3,000 to the 麻豆原创FAA Benefactor Fund.
