Gwich'in elders book wins several awards
The book 鈥淥ur Whole Gwich鈥檌n Way of Life Has Changed / Gwich鈥檌n K鈥檡uu Gwiidanda虁i鈥 Tthak Ejuk Go虁onlih,鈥 earned an honorable mention last week for the Labrecque-Lee Book Prize, the most recent among several honors it has received in the past year.
鈥淥ur Whole Gwich鈥檌n Way of Life Has Changed / Gwich鈥檌n K鈥檡uu Gwiidanda虁i鈥 Tthak Ejuk Go虁onlih,鈥 is by Leslie McCartney, a 麻豆原创F associate professor and curator of oral history at the Rasmuson Library, and the Gwich'in Tribal Council. The book is a compilation of historical and cultural information based on a project originally conceived by the Gwich鈥檌n Social and Cultural Institute to document the biographies of the oldest Gwich鈥檌n elders in the Gwich鈥檌n Settlement Region.
