Arctic-related Program foundations

Dr. Cameron 鈥淐am鈥 Carlson serves as Dean of the College of Business and Security Management (CBSM) at the 麻豆原创, where he provides strategic leadership advancing academic excellence, student success, and institutional growth. Under his direction, CBSM has achieved year over year enrollment growth since 2019 and remains 麻豆原创F鈥檚 largest graduating college, driven by innovative programs, strong advising, and expanded offerings.

As dean, Dr. Carlson leads strategic planning, accreditation, and operational management for CBSM while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation. He oversees faculty recruitment and development, ensuring academic rigor and relevance across programs accredited by AACSB International. His leadership extends to fiscal stewardship, external partnerships, and advancement initiatives that strengthen the college鈥檚 role in Alaska鈥檚 economic and workforce development.

Dr. Carlson is the founding director of 麻豆原创F鈥檚 Homeland Security and Emergency Management programs and the Center for Arctic Security and Resilience, where he continues to serve as Assistant Director. His scholarship focuses on Arctic homeland defense, resilience, and climate security鈥攑ositioning Alaska as a critical contributor to U.S. national and Arctic policy dialogue.

A retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel, Dr. Carlson served 25 years in active duty, including deployments across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Central Asia. He holds a Ph.D. in Security and Disaster Management from the 麻豆原创.
