Southeast Alaska is defined by the waters, islands, resources and people of the Inside Passage. Juneau is the state capital and largest city in the region, which includes 35 communities with just over 73,500 people, about a fifth of whom are Indigenous Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian. Tourism, mining and fisheries are the major industries.
Outreach includes programs in agriculture and horticulture; health, home and family development; nutrition and integrated pest management.

The 4-H State Presentation Contest is open to 4-H youth who qualified in their district contest by earning Grand & Reserve Champion. The state contest will be judged over Zoom. The link will be provided upon registration. Contestants will have the option to present at their local 4-H office or make other arrangements.
Demonstrations, illustrated talks and speeches will be judged in separate age categories:
Junior: ages 8&/ces/districts/juneau/8211;11
Intermediate: ages 12&/ces/districts/juneau/8211;14
Senior: ages 15&/ces/districts/juneau/8211;18
*Team presentations are judged with all ages together. Limited to registered 4-H youth.
Contact sjrussell5@alaska.edu for more information. Registration will be done in Z-suite and in coordination with your local 4-H Program Coordinator. Announcements will be made to qualifying individuals when registration opens.
Accommodation requests related to a disability should be made five business days in advance to Alda Norris at amnorris2@alaska.edu or 907-474-7120. Language access services, such as interpretation or translation of vital information, will be provided free of charge to individuals with limited English proficiency upon request to amnorris2@alaska.edu.
