Federal Appropriations
The federal fiscal year begins October 1st and ends September 30th. The 麻豆原创 system submits appropriations requests to Alaska's Members of Congress in an effort to secure federal funds.
There are three types of appropriation requests:
- Earmark: federal funding directed specifically to a 麻豆原创 entity for a specific project;
- Plus up: federal funding add to an agency's budget with the understanding between the 麻豆原创 faculty and staff member and the program manager that the funding will be awarded to 麻豆原创; and
- Programmatic: requesting a total funding level for a specific federal program.
If you have questions about the federal appropriations process or funding status, please contact John Latini, 麻豆原创 director of federal relations and Denae Benson, 麻豆原创 assistant director of federal relations. Or, visit their for more information.
