Open applications: Introducing graduate students fellowships

Center ICE supports two types of fellowships, and we are looking for applicants to apply for each of them for the spring 2024 semester. For graduate students interested in innovation, Center ICE offers an Innovation Fellowship. This fellowship partners with academic departments to combine a 10-hour fellowship with a 10-hour TA-ship through the interested students' department so that students can explore the world of innovation and gain hands-on experience working on innovative projects.

New Innovation for Alaska and the Arctic class enrolling for Spring 2024

In Innovation for Alaska and the Arctic student teams will engage directly with complex, real-world problems from policy, economics, technology, national security and innovation. Students will test hypotheses using a start-up model approach, respond to the needs of the end-users, and focus on evolving the discoveries into implementable solutions.

Center ICE awards seed funding to prioritize 锘縫lace-based ocean acidification education

Under a RISE-UP Seed Fund award, researchers Natalie Monacci and Christina Buffington are partnering with Ling铆t Aan铆, or Southeast Alaska, and Sheet鈥檏谩, the community of Sitka, on a project that may lead to monitoring and education products that could strengthen 麻豆原创F enrollment.

Up to $20k funding to spark new ideas and amplify research outcomes

We鈥檙e looking for researchers whose work overlaps with our RFP themes and focus areas: resilient energy, earth systems, aerospace and space weather, climate and environmental change, and One Health. Center ICE is supporting up to five awards of $20,000 each.

Recruiting startups for the summer 2024 S2S program

Center ICE is recruiting startup companies to participate in the summer 2024 Students2Startups program. Through this program, some of Alaska鈥檚 top college students will spend next summer working at startups, contributing to their development and success while receiving complementary training on innovation and entrepreneurialism.

Take the Leap on Your Innovative Research
