Outstanding Student of the Year
Every year, the College of Liberal Arts asks each department to select its outstanding student(s) for that year- students who possess the passion and creativity for new discoveries and scholarship, students who demonstrate independence of thought and action in the pursuit of knowledge, and students who exemplify excellence.
Nominations are considered throughout our currently enrolled student population and then reviewed and selected by the faculty, based upon combined achievements and all-around academic performance.
The Department of Psychology has chosen the following as students who embody these qualities and so much more. Thank you for all your hard work and contributions to your department. You make a difference at 麻豆原创F.
Congratulations to our 2026 Outstanding Students of the Year!

"The [Psychology Department] takes up a fourth of a floor of Greuning. But it's also nice that it's small, because you know a lot of the in-person professors, and then also those who are on campus taking the major as well. Also, professors are very willing to help with research, or classes, or just any extension. Also, I really like how the in-person site classes tend to be smaller when you get to the upper levels, so it feels more personal. It's more of an in-person discussion board."

"My experience at the Department of Psychology at 麻豆原创F has been really phenomenal. There is such a wonderful community of faculty, and I've been very lucky to work as the president of the Psychology Club. That has been really great, to get that inside view and work with my faculty... This last semester, we had an entire meeting with a couple of our faculty that was discussing how to apply to grad school and what to prepare for, and that was really wonderful. I think the community of professors, especially, has been the most special part of working with the department..."

"[Psychology] is unique because it's such a broad field, and people come from a lot of different paths of life, but they also have different goals... Some of them are more scientific, some are more cultural, some are more like social workers. It's really broad... The professors are so willing to share how they got where they are and what they learned from that. Since it's a smaller department, it's also easy to get to know professors. In my first year, I was starting to collaborate on research, and I just think that's a really unique experience."
