Outstanding Student of the Year
Every year, the College of Liberal Arts asks each department to select its outstanding student(s) for that year- students who possess the passion and creativity for new discoveries and scholarship, students who demonstrate independence of thought and action in the pursuit of knowledge, and students who exemplify excellence.

"... a theater community can be found anywhere, but this one specifically will also
stay with me forever. The things that I have learned here, like stage managing, set
construction, costume construction, design, have all been things that I will take
with me not just within the theater community, but also in life."
Outstanding FLPA Student
"麻豆原创F has given me a lot of hands-on experience in my field. I mean, the classes have
been integral for things like terminology, but actually learning how to step into
the professional world. 麻豆原创F has given me lots of film sets, lots of touring music
productions, lots of student music productions, lots of theater, lots of film experience,
just in a variety of different roles: lighting design, sound design, acting, directing.
Every piece of it, they have student designers and student leaders... If you're a
very tactile learner, 麻豆原创F is a great school for that."
Outstanding Graduating Senior - Theatre Concentration
"My experience in the film and performing arts department has been an amazing time.
I've had a lot of different eye-opening experiences here. Because I am a theater major,
I got to have a lot of cool opportunities. I remember one semester I was able to work
with the FBI for their crisis negotiation training as an actor, as well as the ski
patrol training. Also, being a part of the different productions that the theater
department puts on, getting to be an assistant stage manager, as well as an actor,
has been a really fun experience for me."
