Outstanding Student of the Year

Every year, the College of Liberal Arts asks each department to select its outstanding student(s) for that year- students who possess the passion and creativity for new discoveries and scholarship, students who demonstrate independence of thought and action in the pursuit of knowledge, and students who exemplify excellence.

The Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program has chosen the following as students who embody these qualities and so much more. Thank you for all your hard work and contributions to your department. You make a difference at 麻豆原创F.

Congratulations to our 2026 Outstanding Students of the Year!

BA in Anthropology, minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies

"As we're moving through the fundamental concepts of women's gender and sexuality studies... I'm getting to see the people that are in this class with me sort of encountering these concepts for the first time, or reflecting on them for the millionth time. It's just really inspiring to be in a learning community of people that are engaging with these concepts that either are very new to them, or that they've taken for granted, and just sort of coming together with all levels of knowledge about this discipline and engaging with these concepts on a deeper level."

"For me, studying liberal arts has been a growth adventure, both personally and professionally. It's helped me think much more critically. It's helped me to communicate much more effectively and explore creativity in ways that I didn't really expect. It's made me a strong leader at work by helping me to better understand and connect with the people that I work with. These are skills that go beyond what I'm doing in IT. And the liberal arts, for me, can help you shape how you see the world."
